MAC resources
JavaSoft: Where it all began -- at Sun Microsystems. A great source for Java news, and an even greater source for technical information about the language. Several of the other links in this list are under the JavaSoft domain.
Gamelan: Probably the single best Java resource out there. A tremendous collection of links to all things Java, including applications, applets, references, tutorials, magazines, and more. An absolute must-hit.
The Java API: Complete documentation for the entire Java API. Not exactly light reading, but very very thorough.
JARS: The Java Applet Rating Service. Another good place to go when searching out applets.
Java World: A great online Java magazine.
Cafe Au Lait: A deep Java resource, with materials ranging from Java news to booklists.
Cafe del Sol: A collection of freely available applets (without source).
Digital Espresso: Summarizes the traffic on Java-related newsgroups.
The Java Developer: A collection of resources for (you guessed it) the Java developer.
Java Resource List: A list of links to various Java-related sites.
Java Message Base Central: A place to leave your questions in the hope that someone will answer them.
Yahoo's Java Resources List: A huge list of Java links. Enough to keep you buys for weeks.
The Java Programming Language: The ACM's contribution to the Java scene.
Java Class Hierarchy: Diagrams of the Java class hierarchy in postscript format.
The Lake Applet: Useful? Naw. Really really cool looking? You betcha!
CrazyText: A fun applet, used heavily on these pages. Also a great example of using parameters.
The Visible Human: More than a little disturbing, but very impressive.
A number of cool games and animations: Includes remakes of Centipede and Missile Command as well as a slot machine and some animations.
Tanks96: Drive a box around a 3-d landscape of boxes.
3-D Rubix Cube: Great example of 3-D applet use.
BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) Simulator
Stereoscopic Animated Hypercube
